In my state, you can be “unaffiliated” and vote in the primary. Once you do though, you are automatically registered to that party - which you can re-register to another party if you wish at any time.

I’d be willing to do that as well, but unfortunately, in my state you cannot vote in a party’s primaries unless you are registered to that party.
