I stand by the fact that Stargate Universe was good. It didn’t start good, it was tedious and drawn out but once it found it’s footing it was getting pretty dang good. The characters became more likeable, they started working together as a team, the story stopped being repetitive and actually had some meat to it.

Yup. Death is only one way to create drama, and it isn’t foolproof. Sometimes death cheapens drama. My example is Age of Ultron. The moment Quicksilver died, I was like “oh, ok, that is Whedon death boner taken care off. That means we can wrap this thing up now.” Totally killed any tension.

I’m not one (I’m a guy and semi-enlightened, although it took some good friends in college to keep me from slipping down the path of idiocy), but I’ve read enough of their drivel that I’ll give it a shot.
