Not sure how that makes it any better.
Not sure how that makes it any better.
It should be noted that the plane is under scrutiny because it was a goddamn disaster. On top of that, it made it through the first time because of people looking the other way, loopholes, epically stupid cost cutting, and a bunch of other bullshit. And then it killed a bunch of people, which should have been…
I didn’t say they were going away. Only less valuable.
Poor timing. This would have been a lot more valuable with a Trump wrap before the election.
It’s my understanding that 2 stroke diesel ruled US frieght railroads up until tier 4emissions regs in 2015, which caused most new units to move to four stroke engines. That said, there are still two stroke engine locomotives being made for other markets and there are US railroads buying new 2 stroke with a emissions…
They aren’t obsolete though. Just in on the road configs. Trains, ships, and a ton of other large machinery still use two stroke diesel.
It doesn’t have anywhere near direct steering though. It looks to be at least 5 turns lock to lock.
From experience with people and two states with inspections - state inspections work.
I mean, VW of America does so DUMB stuff, but getting rid of the GTI would cut out most of their core and repeat buyers.
That’s not similar. That’s a torque multiplier, it has a planetary gear set in the head that reduces the amount of turns put in - and thus increases the torque coming out. It’s just a gearing with no impact going on. In use it’s a smooth motion.
The real question is, where the hell could you get a R for almost the same price? Around here the GTIs all had pretty deep discounts on them and you likely could work the price more. And often bonuses like cheap financing or other factory incentives. R were sticker or over sticker, even if they sat on the lot. No…
A lot of that depends. As for extra expenses, not really. It’s probably cheaper. The more expensive truck is already depreciated in my case. Insurance for an spare car in a family situation is really cheap, so adding it did not jack up our insurance much. Insurance for a older truck as a second car and moderately…
First off, I am certainly in the car + beater or semi beater truck category. The truck gets truck stuff done and the car efficiency and fun more than pay for the truck. And the car goes almost everywhere better and with more comfort than the truck (it should be said my truck is an slightly older lux pickup, so it’s…
If you look at the W16 as modular, with much of it based on VR architecture and much of it based on the newer direct inject turbo 4s, then you can say it’s basically 4 golf r motors.
Also the infamous “crack pipe” on vr6 engines. That said, I got so good at removing the front clip from my mk3 that I could have it off in less than 10mins, at which point the crack pipe is easy peasy.
Have you seen the debt clock lately? If every American is only getting $3,100 per year, not only are they racking up the credit bill instead of living within their means, but they are also getting ripped off on top of it.
What a totally ass backwards way of dealing with it. Let the safety hazards roll on the cars, but lets ignore the undertrained and often discriminatory police tactics.
Exactly. The shitbox spare always comes in handy for downtown visits too - park it anywhere and I dare you to hit me, see if I play fair.
I know some folks have issues and certainly many of the mk4s were trainwrecks - but I own two past warranty and service others in my close family. I’d rather NOT have a warranty if they would give me the money back up front when bought new. Or would take a shorter 5-10k warranty to work the kinks out if it was a…
