And maybe that’s not all they plan to donate towards - or they will give more money later.

Uh, most rich people are stashing away cash in the mattress. It’s not lost away. They are investing it.
It’s adding oxygen. Might not be under pressure, but it’s more oxygen that in the atmosphere and therefore not “natural”.
I’m sure every one of these assholes would be angry if I followed them around blasting my death farts in front of them all day.
Fair enough.
I’d be interested to see your data on savings. I was calculating almost $600 per year on fuel alone - but this was using Model 3 efficiency and Non-hybrid Rav4 MPG. Assuming 12,000mi/ year.
If they do it for 40k or a bit less and it’s reliable it will be cheaper to operate than reliable ICE or even hybrid CUVs in the 30-35k range - extended over a few years. Perhaps much cheaper if you hold it for modern car loan lengths.
ID.3 “GTI” or R in USA, please.
60mph redline in top gear sounds like nearly every single truck made before 1980 or so. And 60 would be lucky.
But hey, if it gets really bad there is probably enough voltage there to kill yourself because the auto start/stop is really not going to work with the garden hose method
Given that this virus seems to go after older folks, especially unhealthy ones, we might not need an election to get new folks in government.
Couldn’t the hybrid setup make the car MORE fun?
Conversely, as an owner of multiple GTIs, just develop a nice RWD ID3 GTI already. It likely will murder the current FWD GTIs for daily driving.
You laugh, but that Versa was purchased DIRT cheap off the lot in 2008. It’s made it ~12 years and ~130k while hitting us with almost nothing in repairs - very little in consumables, very little in fuel. It also has a really nice size back seat for the kiddos - absurd leg room for the size, which the GTI’s are…
Two GTI’s, a Versa, and a Silverado. Every one bought new except for the truck. The Versa is very much due for replacement and we have been looking. If there was a Focus ST or other sporty medium sized hatch/wagon available it would 100% be on the table as an option.
Even if they weren’t buying new, buying used supports the used market. New cars with decent resale are more enticing.
I think the key is that they are going to struggle to meet emissions targets even with a few cars that are lagging. Plus the GTI is a big seller here, which makes a bigger mark.
Yes. Is “mild hybrid” in the required term now?
I’m surprised no light hybrid system. Either good luck meeting their emissions targets or they are going to be pushing ID3 version of this very soon.
Old shitboxs, FTW!
