Totally. Plus, the experience of driving to a place allows for the journey to get there, which often can be an experience on it’s own - and yes a good one.

To be fair, there is at least an equal amount of shitty hysteria causing the stock market to go up. But no problem there because make money right?

If they inflate the price of vehicles that are less efficient and people have options to buy something else that is similar, but cheaper , then they just aren’t being competitive and yes will bankrupt themselves eventually.

So a line lock is for taking better care of the car then?

The problem is not knowing right from wrong, it’s the sources. For example, The President of the United States used to be someone who people - especially kids - could look up to.

Given no one in my family is on Twitter and yet we are still bombarded by this crap, your thought clearly doesn’t go far enough.

True.

With fragile assholery like this and similar antics from our president becoming more commonplace, how am I supposed to explain to my kids that true leaders don’t act like this?

I am personally a bit terrified of all the lithium battery devices around my house going full napalm at any given moment. And they can be shitty to put out.

Again though, it’s the battery, not the motor. Locomotive AC traction motors are relatively low loss and many make 1000+ hp at a relatively light weight. 5-6k lbs from the weights I can find. This would replace the truck engine (3k lbs), Trans (1-2k+), and at least part of the axles. No way in hell a truck needs that

My point was, that Cumming 6bt manufactured in 2002? It’s become no better over the last 20 years, likely worse as the engine and injectors wear.

What does electric hybrid have to do with the motors? Nothing. And some of them are straight electric. And huge constant HP output with not significantly oversized motors.

Nearly every train on the planet is driven by electric motors and pulling way more than just 40 tons.

There is potential for the ev truck do do well at Donner, because all the traditional trucks are jake braking slowly down the otherside and wasting energy. Will require a fairly serious setup though.

We should all make it a point to take giant shits on their lawn.   It will go away naturally and so I am sure they wont have any problems with it.

I disagree. You might not see EV semi’s long hauling just yet, but they probably will save buckets of money in shorter door to door delivery markets, especially ones with stop and go and traffic.

I suppose a smart EV brake controller wouldn’t go to the trailer brakes until you went past max regen on the tow vehicle.   That said, I am not sure such a thing exists yet.

Yeah, but grid is improving every day. So that car, all else equal will be better in 10 years than it is now. You can’t really say that about a Cummins.

They know. But not all trucks are dragging loads at stead speeds across the interstate hwy system. A lot deal with traffic, lights, and other stop and go.

True, but barring the AWD, none of that stuff really costs any more to manufacture, it’s just slightly different. Moreover, if you get into modding it, most of it goes anyway. If you go as far as upgrading the turbos then both engines end up back on a level playing field - for example APRs stage 3 setup is the same
