I like Bernie.
From the numbers I’ve seen, the vast majority of the minority population that has heard of Bernie do support him. The problem is that a minority of the minority population has actually heard of him. It’s not a problem of people shooting themselves in the foot, it’s a Sanders Campaign messaging problem.
From the numbers I’ve seen, a good 70% of the minority population that has actually heard of Bernie support him. Unfortunately, it’s only like 30% of the minority population that say they’ve heard of him. It looks to me like he needs to change his messaging at least a bit.
It’s not terribly patronizing at all. It’s absolutely no different than pointing out that some poor and middle-class white folks vote against their own interests by voting Republican.
