Well, considering the number of negative Youtube reviews I can find—hint: it’s a lot—gonna still have to call BS.
Funny how invested people are in hating the game. Like, conspiracy theories? Come on. You don’t like it. Fine. Move on.
He says that when he saw the video, he felt a violent rage toward everyone who killed the people in the video (and celebrated the act afterwords), and that deep seated anger he felt made him understand 1) the thirst for revenge that drives Abby and Ellie and 2) the guilt and remorse that goes with it.
Source: His asshole.
Finally finished the game on Sunday. Great game, 9/10, but not as great as the first, 10/10.
1) Sony legal is not Naughty Dog.
2) Nothing you posted justifies death threats to creators or actors, does it?
That’s hyperbolic on the review part, and for the leaks, a majority were of channels posting stolen footage. You really can’t blame them for wanting that taken down, especially how many online twisted and outright lied about the content of the game with incomplete context.
I kinda feel like over-focusing on the reviewer’s ‘experience’ takes away from what a reader can really gain, however. Obviously all reviews are mostly subjective, however Kotaku’s feel less and less like an informative assessment of a game’s content and quality, and more like a singular person’s diary/school essay. I…
yeah that’s what I find annoying about them at times, it’s almost as if the actual game itself is immaterial and they seem like they’d rather be talking about anything else.
We paid to experience the story that we love.
dull spinoffs like the games that extended the FF7 lore, like Crisis Core?
I get the point you’re making, given that Toriyama is a director and Nomura has a larger role than he did in the original, but there are a lot of people from the original still involved. Kitase producing, Nojima writing; I’m not ready to write it off
helmed by the people behind Kingdom Hearts and FF13.
The latter is an inevitability for a ton of fans no matter what; I think no matter how well it’s done it’ll be divisive. I mean, it already has been. I’m personally glad they took a risk and are trying something interesting even if it ends up being poorly received.
“The launch experience our players deserve” is code for maximizing their revenue during launch — and they deserve to. Who cares about physical copies? Me, for one. I’d prefer a disc over download. The retailers care. Stakeholders care. The bottom line cares. They don't deserve to lose revenue because some impatient…
God you’re fucking entitled.
Wouldn’t you if you were just hanging on in the face of big box competition, sites like Amazon, and digital sales? I don’t get this response from you at all. Why wouldn’t a mom and pop look froward to the release of a big game that might bring shoppers in their door?
So basically you’re saying it’s fine for other people to have to wait but YOU shouldn’t have to.
“Oh god the humanity.”
Says the kid who’s clearly upset that he’s gotta wait a little longer to play a video game.
It’s not a matter of just releasing digital. There are thousands of games every year that never see physical. It’s about effectively telling the retailers “Hey guys, fuck you, we gonna launch digital, while you wait on your physical copies to get there and if that fucks with your money, that’s not our problem.”
