I like the part where he said don't put it on anything noisy like your Xbox or a subwoofer.

@dirtymentality: Optional for now. Their initial insistence on using your real information on their forums was an obvious move to break down the anonymous barriers that gamers had come to expect. Once people caved to that it would be much easier to pry more information from them. The end goal was fairly clear.

@dirtymentality: Of course they had that info, but posting on their forums with your real name was the hook they needed to open that info up for sale Facebook style. From Blizzard's USAToday interview:

@dirtymentality: Sure but when you click accept for the new TOS for the forums you were going to be allowing Blizz rights to your personal info. There were plenty of ways to make the forums troll-free, why do you think they settled on using your real name? Because real information is worth money.

@xfhunterx: I never said most of the people saw through this. Enough of us did though. The WoW forums were full of people citing the link between Facebook and Real ID.

What a crock. The goal of Real ID wasn't to "improve the forums." It was to have a better integration with Facebook so Blizzard could make money from selling our personal info. Sorry Blizz, we aren't as dumb as Kotick would like us to be.

It's not the security concerns that bothers me, it's Activision making money of the sale of my personal information that disgusts me. Sure I could just not use any of the RealID features, but I find the whole premise so tacky that I'll happily cancel my WoW account in hopes that this fails and no other game company

There's plenty of time for the price to come down. Heck they can't even produce the results that were promised yet. No point in speculating on price until this thing is store-ready.

This is why I keep a spare key on the underside of my car and a $20 bill in my visor. If I ever get mugged or something like that I'll never be stranded or without a bit of cash.

If these publishers keep pushing in this direction it won't be the "$10 solution" it will be the "final solution."

@kyzur: See, on the PC with Valve there is no difference.

I prefer my Valve on a PC where it belongs. You know, the place where updates are free.

I actually love mine, but I mostly use it for media. Never really had many UMD games so that part isn't a huge loss for me. Remote Play with PlayOn makes it a fantastic media device that allows me to leave the old iPod at home. That being said, I can see why it's being shunned and would never recommend it to anyone

@battra92: That's great, but that does not support your original claim that the Beatles are highly overrated. You simply cannot deny that the Beatles have had a massive influence on music and popular culture for generations.

@battra92: I can't agree. Listen to popular music before the Beatles and what came after. They changed the face of music. Probably more than any group ever has.

The only requirement for "art" is that it inspires emotion. What's art to one may not be to another.

Actors also don't know how to fake drive. Ever notice how they move the wheel back and forth over and over? It's like they are all driving down Lombard Street.

This just in: Josh Baskin invented the iPad in 1988 just before he went to talk to Zoltar again.

@d20Dark: To you it's not worth it, to me it is. Amazing how different people value things differently isn't it?
