i think some of the sister site’s content leaks through every now and then. they really should do a better job filtering stories and not just post them everywhere because a kotaku writer happens to also like ufc.

By misreporting how Facebook determines newsworthiness for the Trending section (calling it “suppression” rather than simply a subjective choice by the news curators), Facebook took the human element out of it, letting misinformation spread quicker. I’m sure they are wrestling with that internally. Facebook was lying to their customers and being deceptive about their practices in the news feed. That is not a good thing to be doing. Gizmodo called them out on it and inadvertently created something worse. Read more
