I was bored to distraction watching that film and missed big chunks of it, apparently.

The Italian legal system is totally different than the U.S. legal system - you’re comparing apples and oranges. There was no “double jeopardy.” There was no “retrial.” This is simply a stage in criminal justice which the U.S. doesn’t have but many countries do.

It is possible to be witty, topical and tactful all at the same time. Too bad these guys didn’t get the memo.
