Right now, our country’s policies towards certain immigrants are extremely racist. If history were written now the way it was then, it would paint all of us as being down with it and supporting that.

Personally, I think it is VERY important that kids see racism, sexism etc in action so they can understand what it looks like and why it’s wrong.
