Would it help if we told them the “woke” elements fit previous plot points and flow on naturally from them?

I did like how they introduced a twee little creature, played out the first act of ET with it, and then it turned evil so they sent it to space jail.

Yeah if there was a crowd that didn’t want Doctor Who to be so “woke”, I got bad news for them, RTD ain’t about that.

The return of RTD has resulted in a greatest hits of representation that is going to blow the minds of the right wing commentariat.

Hooo is this one going to piss off all the (Far) right people.

Overall a fun episode. A little twee, sure, but aren’t they always?

She didn’t say she supports Hamas. She says she is against Palestinian civilians being killed which you appear to be very much in favor of.

“My favourite kid’s book? ‘Animal Farm’, no question. Those funny little talking animals, coming together, solving problems with the power of friendship, it gets me every time.”

We can get it happening by next Friday if we hunker down.

Whatever the distinction is that you’re trying to make, you’re not making it clearly. What is the difference between “being outraged” about what you call “an atrocity that is indefensible” and “taking sharp political sides” (as opposed to . . . appropriately dull ones?) about “the conflict”? And what is it

Justified criticism of the nation-state of Israel is not automatically anti-semitic.

Agreed. The Los Angeles Times headline for the story was “Melissa Barrera dropped from ‘Scream VII’ after pro-Palestinian posts,” which is more accurate. Even more accurate would just be that she was fired for telling the truth.

nothing she said quoted here is wrong or antisemitic. It’s just the plain old obvious that everybody with eyes can plainly see.

She wasn’t fired “over comments about Israel” as the headline states, and framing it this way makes it seem like she went off and said something crazy anti-Semitic.

No. But the bar for “comedy” on TikTok is extremely low. Being exposed to a wider audience does have no favors. He’s really just not funny. He’s funny in the way that you have that one friend in your friend group who’s just constantly making jokes and maybe every now and then one of them is kind of funny.

Letterman was a guest on Strike Force Five, the podcast the five late night hosts did during the WGA strike. I highly recommend it and you don’t have to like all the late night shows to enjoy it. They just sit around shooting the shit, teasing each other relentlessly, (Fallon gets the worst of it, deservedly so) and

The first shot in the trailer is of the Statue of Liberty.

I’m prepared to be disappointed later, but at least this trailer isn’t mentioning Gozer, Zuul or Ivor Shando. Perhaps a Ghostbusters movie can stand on its own for once.

Thank God, finally getting rid of the thing that kept the Ghostbusters franchise down: the comedy.

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire

I don’t know man, Creed has made 3 of them. The there is the whole Star Wars franchise..
