For about $120 you can by an OBD2 extension cable and tracking dongle with 5 years of tracking included. The cable is so the original port looks and functions like a standard port while allowing you to hide the dongle in the dash so a thief doesn’t pull it.

I would’ve snapped. Told the F&I person to hold on, walked out to the floor to find the most senior sales manager I could find, brought them back into the room and given F&I a dressing down in front of the sales manager that included the phrase:

That’s not a knife!
