The instruction in the VAR era is to allow play until a logical stoppage (here, the goal) and then review the questionable portion, sorting it out after. VAR worked as it was supposed to.

Keep in mind away goals are only used as a tiebreaker in home-and-home series during some tournament play, they don’t factor into aggregate scoring unless there is a tie, or in any regular season play.
