I think it transcends sport:

Jonas Hiller had one for a bit, but IMHO it only looks good in black and most teams shouldn’t be using black helmets. Flyers are a maybe, but it looks more at home for the Bruins, Pens, Kings, Ducks, and maybe the Senators or Canes. It might look okay in other dark colors like navy, dark green or maroon though too.

As a former college lacrosse goalie, I’d say lacrosse is not popular enough yet for any of the positions to be that hard. Sure there are people that are very, very good, but the drop off between pro/D1/D2/D3/high school is not as great as more established sports like hockey, baseball, or basketball.

Given the injury to the UCF QB, I’d say that’s an unfair comparison. Granted that I don’t watch enough college football to know how big the dropoff is between the starter and the guy who played today, but it should be taken into consideration before writing off this team as less deserving than ND or Oklahoma.
