Sounds like you just don’t like today’s teams, but if Kessel and Hagelin on the 3rd line don’t count as depth you’re insane. If you can’t see that the best teams now would destroy every single historically “great” team you’re high off your ass.

Hindsight is 20/20 on what great rosters look like. This Winnipeg team has at least 2 superstar forwards, a superstar defenseman, and potentially a superstar goaltender. Nashville is in the same boat and so is Tampa, with Pitt being not far behind.

It’s not those teams that were the shitshow, it was everybody else.. The owners didn’t want more parity, they wanted more money. Parity will always exist among the teams willing to pay for good players. The NHL picking bad ownership groups for bad markets and a weak CAD have resulted in struggling franchises.

The league did away with great teams? When was this? Nobody wants the 80s back where the Isles and Oilers account for 8 out of 10 cups. The NHL is expanding because the talent pool is expanding. Every single NHL team would likely beat any international squad with the exception of the usual medal winners (Russia, US,

Because they are entertaining as hell. Mediocre and boring teams can occasionally be carried by legit superstars (like Ottawa with Karlsson or some of the late Detroit teams with Lidstrom and some would argue Pitt this year). No one would put James Neal or Fleury in that same category. Toronto is middle of the pack

If it happens I think we’d see a lot of Morris guarding Lebron, or Smart with help from Baynes inside. Horford could probably take Love and then you use Rozier/Brown/Tatum to pick up the rest of the pieces and force them to make shots.

I’d say it will only be entertaining if Lebron is the only player to show up for cleveland. If Love is playing well and Korver is hitting shots though, I don’t think the Celtics have a chance to go more than 5.

I think the boom and bust could be more attributed to the over payment of such QBs once they are off their rookie deal. They tend to be good and effective when they’re young and underpaid, I’d assume because the money is being spent on quality lineman that can’t be afforded once the team needs to pay the QB (Russell

So the insurance company is definitely in the wrong for amending the policy retroactively, that’s some shady shit, but it is unclear to me whether his retirement from football was voluntary or doctor ordered/recommended.

I think the Warriors need to look at reloading to compete with the young teams going beyond next season. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a Klay Thompson trade (while he still has value before FA) and possibly all of their centers if they want to keep Curry, Durant, and Green together then get younger and cheaper around

Yeah but at least he had LA for the playoffs. If you had to pick at the beginning of a season between a playoff team with all of LA, Parker, Ginobli, and Rudy Gay or one with Horoford, Brown in his 2nd year, Marcus Smart, one of the Morris brothers, and a rookie who might finish 4th in ROY voting (behind Mitchell,

Wouldn’t pro athletes in the major 5 sports want their new records recognized if games/seasons were lengthened or shortened?

You can buy and download digital media, that then can be downloaded again and again by you. Tapes get eaten and discs get scratched, vinyl is less susceptible to this sort of thing and a good pressing is often higher quality than almost all digital copies. Also album art has some value too, that is never consistently

+1 icy hot patch

High school education might be a stretch. I’m pretty sure everyone knew he would be playing pro hockey by the time he was 14/15.

Yeah I think it is safe to assume many Canadian NHL players did not vote for Trudeau, though they are probably evenly split between Quebec secessionists, alt-right fuck nuts, and reasonable people that just don’t care enough to vote.

The regular season moved it from a 4th-3rd, but they also didn’t really have a choice unless they wanted to tip everyone off they were going to tank. Both other goalies were hurt near the deadline. The whole deal seams odd unless the plan is to dump both Elliot and Neuvirth in the off season, which still should not

Based on the terms of the trade, it sure looks plausible that management axed the idea of playing Mrazek in the playoffs (who IMO is the best goalie on their roster). In their side of the bracket, 6 wins and two series wins is not all that unthinkable for the flyers, which would turn the 3rd round pick they gave to

Murray looked shaky and as noted in the article many of those goals were practically handed to them. The Pens are going to have a tough time keeping up with the goalscoring of Boston or Tampa, who arguably have a much stronger defensive presence.

There are, but I think what a lot of democrats failed to see was that the national elections aren’t the time to voice your concern. I proudly voted for Hilary in a state that she narrowly won and encouraged my friends and colleagues to go vote, but I also voted against her in the primary. If democrats want to enact
