If you have a niche job (or even are passionate about a niche hobby) moving to accommodate that isn’t abnormal. Almost every professional athlete moves for their career. Many avid skiers move closer to mountains. Living in a shitty area to bike isn’t an excuse.

If you absolutely “need” to train for elite cycling races, move out of the fucking city to an area that has better options. If you are using it for transportation in the city, I have no problem abiding by the laws to let you travel safely.
