I dunno. I think the pig sequel -bringing a flaming clown to a children’s hospital- sensibility is exactly what more superhero movies need.
While Ready Player One looks like dumb fun, I really, really love Last Action Hero. It subverts and deconstructs so many action movie cliches...and then completely reconstructs them for the finale. It’s like if someone instilled all of their love for action movies into one film.
No, I’m not buying YouTube Red for a Jumper spin-off series. Were they to do a Push spin-off series, I’d be there.
How could you not mention Cheryl getting fucking kidnapped and sent to some weirdass Christian asylum for conversion therapy?
I think I just figured out that it was supposed to say “The Joker made the Penguin put on a clown costume” because I was wondering if I actually read that Joker & Penguin made out.
Becuase the publisher usually has an idea of what they want and they don’t want the facts of the book messing with the cover art.
I met Octavia Butler once. The original cover of Dawn is famous for portraying the protagonist of the book as a white woman when Butler explicitly wrote her as black. Butler said the artist…
Apparently it’s the boots. If you look reeeaaallly closely, they have heels that are slightly higher than would be normal for riding boots.
If he has a problem with this depiction, he probably should have objected to the cover of the first book in the series that came out a year ago.
Oh there’s much more that’s wrong with Terry Goodkind that his obsession with rape (and torture) but it’s a good point to start.
He wasn’t exactly getting my money before, but this clearly made up line of bullshit and constant, OBVIOUS lies and attempts to sling mud on the artist and Tor guarantees he never gets another cent.
My wife always gets angry when his name is brought up because she read some of his books growing up and all she remembers was the obsession with rape in his stories.
Greg Rucka wrote some good Batman. I always liked the way that he and Ed Brubaker balanced their adventure stories with a more grounded human element, culminating in Gotham Central where the fantasy elements are generally in the background. Their more street-level approach seems especially appealing after many years…
Flynn looks like Bob Ross. Goddamn shame they didn’t name him Dog Ross.
Look, I watch alot of bad (and also good!) movies while working. These films fill a certain need.... something that is fun but doesn’t require too much thought or investment. Cloverfield Paradox had good actors, a few interesting scenes, and when it went bad.... it was still moving fast and silly enough that I enjoyed…
How does Netflix make money on these films or their original programming?
Just said this over on avclub, don’t mind saying it again... if this is as close as I’ll ever get to my Luis-Darcy-coupling fan-fic, then so be it.
Did the teams look at all the different Lanterns and decide ‘hey, we can do that too’?
If she plays it like she did the vampire in Blade Trinity (where she and Ryan Reynolds were clearly in a different movie than everyone else), then this will be nothing but fun.
