Children of Earth was great, but last time I watched it was well before I had kids, so it’d probably hit me pretty hard now. One of my favorite Doctor Who quotes was from that, even though technically it’s not Doctor Who.

That’s still one of the creepiest episodes of the New Who run to me. That and “Midnight” usually rank towards the top of my “scare the beejeezus out of you” list if I have to put one together. Of course with “Turn Left” it’s just too real and plausible, so I have to be in a certain mood to watch it. Just scary.
You can also see the gestation of the idea in the Doctor Who episode “Turn Left”: due to a series of disasters (that had previously been prevented by the Doctor), Britain turns into a fascist state, all told through the point of view of Donna Noble and her grandfather. It’s fascinating and chilling.
It could be both, Doom Patrol is very funny and goofy at times, but also kind of Grimdark.
That’s why it would be great. Can you imagine Lupita Nyong’o as Martha Washington?
BRPD lends itself automatically to a great episode show. Whether they wanna do a monster-of-the-week kind of show (with lower rank agents and maybe a couple of Liz/Ben showing up, keep that budget low), or if they want to follow the sprawling narrative of the comics: they’re going to have a good show with tons of…
I would love it if we got a B.P.R.D. series on Netflix. It wouldn’t even need Hellboy in it — just have Kate Corrigan be in charge.
That was my initial question as well. These endings manage to make even less sense than what we got, which is saying something.
Takuro was referring to the pretty big gap that’s currently between this particular bumper and the vehicle it was previously attached to.
TMNT II - III would beg to differ.
No. Time Travel/Portal shows are just cheap gimicks for lazy writers. For every good episode, there are a hundred that suck.
Could geography come into play with that? It seems pretty plausible that the Jedi could become fairly mythical fairly quickly in a place like Tatooine, where they probably weren’t seen very often to begin with.
I don’t think it’s necessary at all.
Keep in mind that there were only a few thousand Jedi around in a massive galaxy of hundreds of billions of people/beings. Even when they were at their zenith, the vast majority of people in the galaxy never saw any Jedi; especially outside of the core worlds. The Empire also…
Looking at the final image, maybe they’re just trying to explain how history became legend, and legend became myth in the span of 16 years
It’s really too bad the utter shitshow that was Inhumans has made the possibility of a movie unlikely, because Chastain would have been a great Medusa.
That’s the part of The Shining that breaks your suspension of disbelieve? ;)
This is the internet you’re talking about....
What’s perfect about Luke’s final actions are they exemplify EVERYTHING Obi Wan and Yoda taught him about the Force, most specifically a Jedi only uses it for defense. I thought it was a beautifully realized demonstration of all of his knowledge, skill, and hope. It was exactly the way Luke Skywalker would have gone…
Every single thread about The Last Jedi is like a perfect antidepressant for me. It reminds me that no matter how much shit goes sideways in my life, no matter how much my depression or anxiety afflict me, I will never, NEVER be capable of the rage and hatred that the people who hate TLJ are consumed by.
