I hope that Credence gets revived in a ritual that requires a liquid so clean that you can see through it.

and does an ok Scottish accent
Amy and Rory were great.
The ambiguity of the source material. There was a shit ton of stuff that was just left up to you in the comic. For example, the big fight scene between Eric and the gang where this black...shadow or whatever, just comes out of him, and there’s just these massive, disjointed frames of action.
Where did Eric come from?…
The Doctor always has very different interactions with a male companion too. I hated Tennant’s final two episodes with a burning passion, but they were just about saved by making Wilf the companion, because he was so different to anyone else we’d seen the Doctor interact with in the show.
I don’t want to be that guy, but hnnnnGGGG
It’s good to see that people are starting to realize that football is terrible for brains, and that may be what’s turning so many people off from the sport (I know I am one of those people, and I know plenty of other people in the same boat). But it’s apparently a lot easier…
Honestly, “gritty, revisionist” Robin Hood has been the norm for a while. Even Prince of Thieves was basically a “gritty” take (well, whenever Alan Rickman wasn’t onscreen). But every ten years or so Hollywood trots “gritty Robin” back out with a lot of fanfare and assurances that this is the character like you’ve neve…
My junior year, one of the running backs at my high schooltook a pretty routine hit, walked off the field, and died. He had gotten a concussion the previous week in practice and the second hit caused his brain to swell.
Exactly. This looked like the kind of play that happens 50 times a game. Normal tackle, some slight contact from a teammate coming over to assist on the tackle, and all of a sudden the guy isn’t getting up? That is the scariest part about all of this.
All for grounded. Really sick of “gritty”.
Indeed - without getting into a bunfight over what constitues a companion, I always through The Brigadier was a nice addition to the mix because he was clearly characterized to be an antagonist to The Doctor and the other companions. I’d like to see that in a companion again before much longer.
I’m less concerned by the use of the ward gritty and more by revisionist. It’s not a word which conjures positive imagery.
Honestly, the Librarians is better when they don’t have The Doctor Librarian.
IIRC the old Costner Robin Hood was more gritty than the new one.
There’s a part of me that’s curious to see a film that follows the comic panel for panel...but...I recently re-watched Proyas’ film and it still holds up. Like, it’s still really good. I love it. No need to mess with it, no need to update it. So, this is one of the rare occasions where I’m kind of glad something…
The scariest thing to me is that the hit did not look particularly hard. No head snap, no moment of pure, “HOLY COW! That guy got messed up!” But he obviously is in serious distress. It’s no mystery anymore that the hit does not need to look dangerous to be dangerous. I wouldn’t be surprised, after watching this…
The cart ride was hard to watch for me. He looked so helpless—normally we see the players waving to their teammates or acknowledging the fans, but his look of pure shock and fear was just...really sad
“gritty, revisionist” Robin Hood
I bet we find out that Rey’s parents also had a star cruiser that crashed on that moon :P
