It was a really, really lame copy-cat of the Zune Social. Zune Social was at least fun and interesting even if there were only a few hundred people (it seemed) on it. Too bad that platform was never really given a chance by the public... it was just done so much better than Apple's world (from the UI to the PC

Hah!

HAH!

I and most of the audience I saw it with obviously didn't love it, and couldn't wait for it to be over (very restless, giggling in all the wrong places, a flight to the exits the MOMENT the credits began, and utter dead silence as they filed out). I thought it was thoroughly and completely disappointing... a narative

I still like "XBox Infinity" ... two circles making a side-ways figure 8, which ties in with Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8...

WP8 introduces more supported resolutions, including much higher pixel-densities and resolutions. It remains to be seen exactly what the supported resolutions will be, and how current aps will adapt to running on phones with different resolutions.

So... in that miniture atomic clock... are cesium atoms recycled?

From what I understand, the 41mp camera doesn't actually produce 41mp photos... it's used to more accurately down-sample and more accurately remove 'noise', resulting in very high quality... but definitely more normal sized... photos. It lets you do some interesting processing of the image.

Often enough, and my music is a great way to tune out fellow passengers. But it was just one example, out of probably dozens I could cite, where streaming isn't what I want.

Streaming music services don't work on airplanes, and run up your data usage when you're not on wi-fi. And picutres that sync to skydrive currently sync in a lower-resolution format.

Anyone who thinks "Chicken & Waffles" is an odd combination, sounds gross, or are otherwise turned off by the idea... have never HAD "Chicken & Waffles".

I'm closer than you are... I would have sprung for a Lumia 900 if only it had 32GB or more of internal storage.

I'm a total foodie, yet "clay" was what I thought too. Since when is steel like clay? It's kind of amazing to see and think about...

That doesn't change the fact that Apple didn't invent the GUI, and DID copy the idea from someone else, which is the point.

Except silverlight is dead. I can't imagine WP8's primary development enviornment will be 'silverlight' ...

In fact, in the US, I've found Bing maps (on the desktop) to be more accurate, more often, than Google maps... which has consistently given wildly wrong locations for various addresses.

Apple fanboys commonly believe that, but no. Apple of course stole the whole mouse GUI desktop thing from Xerox PARC. And Windows was very little like Mac OS except for the fact that it was graphical and used a mouse (sorta at first... seriously, the first few versions of Windows were designed and mostly used with

I found it interesting how many Mountain Lion and iOS6 features seemed to be playing catch-up or copying Windows 8 and Windows Phone 7 features... some seemed specifically tailored to address the losses to "Smoked by Windows Phone" contests, even. Others were, of course, catchup/copy of existing Android features.

Except Win8 isn't exactly a debacle yet given that it's not complete, and will definitely shine on new hardware designed around it (to be released in the fall).
