My boss just bought a used Model Y and had to jump through hoops to find the precise time range that had the functions he wanted before they were removed. It’s as crazy as you’re saying.

Exactly. I even respect Musk for his accomplishments and fighting against an intransigent industry and it’s corrupt leaders and partners in government.
These shenanigans will certainly hurt consumer confidence in their new products. It doesn’t even matter if the parts were redundant: Tesla wasn’t open about a production change, so prospective customers can’t help but wonder what else it’s hiding. Other companies no doubt have done this, but Tesla got caught. That’s…
Build quality aside, my fear is that they’ll begin to institute “user subscription fees” for everything from turn signals to radio station presets. While other carmakers may consider some of this, too, I fear Tesla will run this scam far in excess as other automakers.
Just imagine what repair costs are going to be when these cars start to get older. Even simple issues are going to require multiple diagnostic trees depending on which variant you have.
It’s also going to hurt consumer confidence in their new products (eventually). Tesla thinks it can do no wrong because the current demand for their products is high; but any economist or marketing professional worth their salt will tell you that demand shifts happen ALL THE TIME. Once you’ve earned a bad reputation,…
If you have the HD wood trim holding your battery in it’s going to be a collectible. Just wait and see.
We are of the same mind.
lol, just typical tech baron shit. I appreciate Tesla for all its done in mainstreaming EVs and building a car company from scratch. Truly impressive feats. However, as someone who will most certainly by an EV here in the next few years i wouldnt ever consider buying one from Tesla.
A company that shipped cars with parts sourced at the local Home Depot would do this? I am shocked, shocked I say.
I particularly hate the made-up future car placement like this and the Lexus from Minority report.
Another one.
Here for the ZX2 appreciation post! I learned to drive stick in my bare bones base model, and was one of the best cars I had.
Hertz had no shortage of absolutely loaded to the gills Mustangs.
Some people live to be professionally offended.
So, are you going to add in an addendum about how the mayor of Rotterdam has said no decision has actually been made and this probably won’t actually happen, like the article you linked actually says? I know rage gets clicks, but come on, have some integrity.
First time I sat in the new Continental was at the auto show - Lincoln had the bad luck of being right across from Mercedes Benz. Short of having the V6 and a bit more space, that Continental fell short of a pretty basic E-Class (they started around the same price) just by how cheap a lot of the little touch points…
First
Smart ForTwo. Suppose to be a fun, nippy city car with great gas mileage.
7 percent of you wanks are voting Nice Price. What the hell is wrong with you? Is the backseat of a Mustang II where you first had sex or something? Is that even possible?
Yeah this is a braindead take. It takes two seconds to look at the numbers, the market clearly wants this and are willing to pay for it. It would be practically irresponsible for a company to not take the money that’s on the table.
