Tiny? 40" is fat ass territory
Yeah I’m 6'1" and hover around a 36" waistline and I’m still overweight (and working on it). Kinda insane <40" is being called “thin people”. I think the author of this article doesn’t want to admit that 40" is the average because the USA has an obesity issue.
It’s not questionable at all, there are height and weight requirements for nearly every ride in every legitimate amusement park. For some it’s under 300lbs, for others it’s under 250lbs. This may seem arbitrary, but it’s that way for a reason. What if they made it a “touch bigger”, would a 42" waist be acceptable to…
Cracks me up some people want to paint a 40" waist as average. There’s a healthy middle ground between outright shaming people for being fat, and pretending being obese is healthy and desirable.
if they aren’t i am saying exactly that
While I think they probably should have designed this to be more accommodating, but less than 40" waistline isn’t “thin”, at least for dudes.
Source: I’m around 38" and I’m a bit of a fat fuck.
The same CDC dataset cited noted that 42% of Americans are obese, a number that doubled since 1990. Not overweight: obese. 2/3 of adult Americans are now overweight. But I’m sure I’m in for a lecture or my post will get deleted for noting this.
It’s almost as if the average American is overweight and/or obese.
“A 40” waist line is about a [women’s] size 20.”

Plus, their cult following is willing to pay a premium price for Tesla. I’m not sure how equivalent a Chevy Bolt is with a base Model 3, but the MSRP of a 2023 Bolt is $26,500 and the Model 3 is $43,990 (as you stated). Now, I’m sure the Model 3 has way more tech, but not $16K worth. Plus repairs and maintenance will…
I wonder how many folks who leased shortly before Covid found themselves with a relatively cheap buyout in the last 12 months and just decided to buy the car outright. My parents were in that boat with a 3 year old Q5 that had like 12k miles on it. The pre-determined buyout price made it a steal.
You mean to tell me that selling non-luxury cars at luxury car prices nets more profit?
If I had the money to get any car I’d want, I’d be willing to wait for a new Tesla Model S spec’d to the way I want.
I would expand on this to say my first fun car. The first car I bought because I wanted it, not just because it would meet my basic needs, wasn’t that much nicer or more expenses than the previous ones, but made me much happier to be behind the wheel.
