It was on this very site, back in its pre-zombie days, that I first discovered that 1. when the tv character Rhoda got married in the 70’s people sent wedding gifts to CBS and 2. when the character divorced a year or two later, thousands of viewers angrily demanded the gifts back

Wrong article, it looks like.

Like, how hard is it to just not say transphobic things at your workplace? When your whole job is speaking words other people write for you... maybe you don’t need to say anything else? How does it even come up on the set of the Mandalorian?

But “I’m not on Twitter, so I didn’t really know that, to be honest,” MacDonald laughed.

Rumors at the time were that she was saying transphobic things on set, around Pedro, and even after he tried to educate her she just doubled down.

Yeah she’s too dumb to realize she’s not going to win in a star-power fight with Pedro Fucking Pascal.

It’s honestly like something out of The Twilight Zone, where she was so certain the extreme right wing fans would have her back that she could say all this stuff and still have a comfortable career, but then finds out they’ll never accept a big strong woman in their movies because it’s “woke.”

The “boop/beep” thing was a direct insult to Pedro Pascal, after he put pronouns in his bio as a show of support for his trans sister. Publicly attacking the star of the hugely successful show you somehow landed a part on is exactly the kind of stupid-as-shit career move that leads directly to working for Ben Shapiro.

Yeah I remember that being really the biggest part of all of it. She was super anti-trans and I think Pascal even tried to talk her rationally about it at first, but after repeatedly going down that hole, he definitely went to the Disney powers and said to tell her to get the fuck out

Which isn’t even getting to the biggest part yet: the actual star of the show she appeared in has become a superstar over the course of it, famously has a trans sister whom he truly loves and supports in every way, and presumably told their bosses: “shut her up or get her the fuck off my show.”  And, not being idiots,

Jake Llody’s mom has got it goin’ on!

You never heard about anyone getting molested or harassed on You Can’t Do That On Television.  Gen-X wins again!

It was a big story that he was fired from The Witcher for horribly abusive behavior, after a warning to cut it out. That’s a pretty big piece of the puzzle to leave out of the article.

People who make food for children are still called “cooks.”

Yes, this is a brand-new term that no one has ever used before.

The subhed on this article is wholly unrelated to any of the facts contained therein. Simple lack of editorial chops, or were we all supposed to be baited by a baseless implication that DeMayo’s race and/or sexuality were somehow factors in his dismissal?

Yeah, he did some bad shit.

You know what would be fun? Another Mario game in the mold of long-lost Mario 2. Yes, it was just a skin of another game, but it’s far better known as Mario 2 and would be fun to toss some turnips at Snifits and Ninjis again in the modern era. #JusticeForWart

I’ve seen a few think pieces discussing nostalgic TV watching like it’s something that just started with streaming. Kinda ignores things like “Nick at Night” and day time syndicated TV that has been a thing for decades.  None of this is new

Any golden age for kids television is the era you grew up in. Though it’s difficult to argue with the massive numbers those Schneider shows got, of course, try and convince a 40 year old that the golden age of Nick WASN’T when you could watch Hey, Dude, Salute Your Shorts, and Clarissa Explains It All.
