The 1983 Golf MkII had no hubcaps, instead it had steel rims that emulated hubcaps. This is one of my fav Volkwagen budget solutions, next to the Beetle wiper-washer-hack.

Unimog 437/500 is another weird MB curiosity. Made by Freightliner Portland it was for german municipalities only. Complete with municipial german orange color dressing and yellow roof signals. And pickup truck. Why not?

I doubt that those electronic(?) gadgets in the instrument panel were OEM in 1970. Maybe they came in aftermarket in the 80s. This could even explain why the speedo needle broke, because the panel was removed and something was sawn out about 30 or so years ago.  

Why didn’t they build that Chrysler Excelsior.
