With regards to education spending, this chart doesn’t account for the hundreds of billions of dollars spent by States, which puts the total very close to what the Fed budgets for defense spending.

So a law abiding citizen who legally owns a firearm, has their house broken into and their firearm stolen, is now legally responsible for the actions of the criminal that stole the gun? No.

Well, where and how the gun was acquired remains to be seen. We don’t yet know the gun was stolen from someone who acquired it legally, whether they stored it properly, or if it was stolen despite being stored properly.

Well, the parents reportedly don’t know how the gun was acquired, which could mean that they didn’t know their son had in in the first place. If the kid was stupid enough to illegally acquire a firearm I’m doubtful he was thinking about proper handling and storage of the firearm.
