Slaves that had love for their owners were exhibiting Stockholm syndrome. As an AA woman myself. My grandparents told me stories their grandparents told them. Love can only go so far when you know your master owns your life. Slaves could not make life decisions, or have autonomy of themselves, they were property. Sure

To pretend that slaves were never happy or never had a good day or never smiled is to deny them a basic part of their humanity. That some were friendly with or even loved their masters is undeniable.

Stockholm syndrome?

Couldn’t pay me to see it. It’s right up their with Michael Bay’s oeuvre.

I’m a terrible person. Thought #1 is that the guy is molesting them.

Ted Kennedy had a amphicar too!

*unless it’s Trump.

This is why whenever I need to get some food, I just go to the supermarket and hang out by the checkout. I get to be in close proximity to people who have food, which is the same as having it, yourself.

That whole line of thinking has a feel of “Shut up, peasants! The Master Artiste is waiting for the Muse and you’ll STFU! I owe you nothing!”

Now playing

I’m pretty sure I saw something like this in a movie.

They both hurt my feelings. :( Why not call it “strategic saving”?
