I don’t think they’re opposed to people getting themselves out, the same as you did; I think they’re opposed to people offering it as the sole piece of advice. Because, honestly, did you need anyone to tell you that you needed to get out? I’m guessing you figured out on your own that it was pretty bad where you were,

Love the song GO! It showed up in a custom station, it was my introduction to Public Service Broadcasting.

As far as the extension cord goes - running a space heater with an extension cord at a smaller diameter - 16 gauge, 18 gauge, etc - runs the risk of causing a fire, either at the outlet or somewhere along the cord. If you are running space heater, and you feel that the cord is warm - STOP, unplug it, and either

This headline is the real gift.

Yeah, and I can’t tell whether they finished the hexagons themselves with poly or anything, but they either used white panels or painted some ply or MDF white, but if you have white or cream walls you could easily paint the backing a darker color to get a nice contrast.

A quick reminder, since you mentioned using the oven’s self-cleaning feature, is that it’s generally not recommended to use it, but if you do there’s a right way:

I think I benefit from having never been cool, even when I was young, but I’m not particularly fussed about being old or about people thinking of me as old.  On the contrary, whenever I see members of my generation still trying to look hip, it’s hard not to chuckle a little bit.

I was right there, for the first two.

The quote is half-way down page 28, and if you’d read the paper, you’d understand that it is not stating that height is the only important measure of physical attractiveness - the implication is that all other things being equal, Brad Pitt standing 5'6" and Brad Pitt standing 6', the latter would need to make nearly

If you’re just after the hilt, you might consider hitting up Etsy for a pre-made/painted copy.  If you have a 3D printer, the models for Rey’s lightsaber are up on thingiverse and cults3d, you could make one, but it would probably be a little intensive to get something that looks really good.

I’m not 100%, but they kind of look like Zayne Carrick and Jarael from the Knights of the Old Republic comic series that was set 5-10 years before the game. It would be cool if they brought some of those characters in, and they could do it without breaking the original continuity too much.

that’s the one!  I think I remember the Thirteenth Floor also being based on the same Simulacron-3 story that World on a Wire is based on.

It’s worth noting that youtube-dl has been inactive for a while, so it’s probably going to run into issues going forward as various video platforms make changes. there’s an active fork called yt-dlp:

Peak Kotaku.  10/10.  This is like if Jason Torchinsky did an article on fighting games.

When I was doing it, which was about 12 or 13 years ago, I was making minimum wage.  I think by the time I quit I was making maybe $.50 above minimum wage, after getting a couple quarter-a-year raises.  Where I live, we still go by the federal minimum wage which is 7.25 an hour so I’d guess that’s what Baristas still

That’s the best kind of prank really.  Nothing gets destroyed, no one is humiliated, no one has their day ruined.  Just a bunch of gnomes gentrifying your hedge.

Laid back, or laid on her back, because one of those is a problem

I don’t think we need to be like that, she’s got a PhD in Ethics, she’s a legit Dr. She was also sourcing another article, which cited a Department of Energy recommendation about insulating chilled water pipes. I believe that article is here:

I had the same thought.  If it’s inside the house, condensation on cold pipes would actually come from water in the air, reducing the humidity.  Now, from there if it evaporates again, you’ve got a zero-sum situation, but if condensation drains off somewhere outside the home...

For me, it was done with a neuropsych evaluation. Really, there are nine criteria for ADHD, and they expect kids to have 7 of them, and adults to have 6 (the difference owing to coping mechanisms people might have by adulthood).

One of the big flags in my evaluation was meeting six of the criteria, and on assessment
