My favorite (hilarious) thing about Marge is that she eats her way through the entire movie. I mean, just NON-STOP grazing!

Right?? It's almost as if she, a WOMAN, is a person too! Imagine that! (Obvious sarcasm is obvious)

I can barely watch that scene. The second-hand embarrassment is just too much for me.

No, this scene is an absolutely masterful exercise in character development. As stated above, Marge gives everybody the benefit of doubt, never assuming that somebody who just straight up lie to her face cause SHE would never do that. The realization that Mike Yamagita lied about his wife is the catalyst for her

Pregnancy as an occasional fact life, rather than a disability or singular purpose. Incidental feminism ftw.

It’s so funny, MANY film critics consider this scene extraneous because it doesn’t move the plot forward. They actually describe it as the one weakness in the film. I LOVE this scene. And it does move the plot forward in a later scene.

I absolutely love Marge.

As Sondheim wrote, and my mother oft repeated:

Well, they haven’t made many more films with smart, tough women in leading roles. Sure, there have been plenty of interesting women in small supporting parts, but not a lot of lead roles. Pointing out that it has been 20 years since Fargo kinda makes you think about what a sausage-fest most of their work has been

No asking what her husband thinks about her, her work, her behavior, her opinion, his opinion on the topic.... So nice.

Correct! She learns that maybe she shouldn’t inherently trust everyone and follows up on her hunch...which causes William H Macy to flee the scene!

Brainerd is my home town and I lived in Fargo for five years - yes we talk like that and yes we are (mostly) all that nice!!!

‘Fargo’ is a great movie in a lot of ways but to me there’s one unsung way in which it should be respected: It’s the only movie I can think of in which a main character is pregnant through most of the movie and does not give birth. No adorable infant crying, no new beginnings, no deaths balanced by new life. Marge

And not to mention her scene that had nothing to do with the case, the brutally awkward reunion with the high school ex. That was amazing.

This movie came out the year I moved to Minneapolis. Yes! Everyone here was mad saying they don’t talk that way (we dooon’t taalk that way gosh darn it.!), everyone here does talk this way. I am in Tropical Paradise with my bf this week and yesterday someone asked him if he was from Minnesota, and that they recognized

My college boyfriend was from North Dakota. He and his family were pissed when this movie came out, “We don’t sound like that!” They sounded exactly like that.

Fargo is amazing. The Coen Brothers made Marge all the more badass by making her heavily pregnant. I loved that they showed her doing her (more physical, “dangerous”) job and make almost no comments about her pregnancy. One of the many brilliant things about this movie.

Honest to God it’s like people don’t know music existed before the 1990s. That was a very famous song when Whitney Houston was just a little girl.

Yeah. I like a nice fit bod, but just looking at Zac's torso is making my bod want to curl up like a frightened caterpillar. To get into that shape HE must have done some serious hurt'in too :( I'll pass.

That’s a nice thought, but I doubt the teachers make more money than at a public school.
