I feel like in the US that’s how I used to see it, but in more recent years they’ve started giving you your card back as soon as it’s done being read, before you’ve started your transaction. I think it’s to combat the problem of people leaving as soon as they get their cash (which may be another uniquely US based

Got it in six today - got it to “ROUND” in four, so (considering my previous guesses) I knew the final word was either WOUND, POUND, HOUND, BOUND, or MOUND. Came up with “WHOMP”, which I knew would tell me the remaining letter (either W, H, M, P, or none of them meaning B). Got “HOUND” on my final guess.

I rarely remember the current day’s word after I play it, let alone every previous word.

I don’t think Hard Mode is as fun and I’m playing to entertain myself, not to win a contest or impress others. I still play in line with Hard Mode most of the time, but I still keep it on Normal Mode for situations like this.

Yeah, reading this, I was reminded of taking my Switch apart years ago to change out the case. The triggers were tricky, the ribbon cables were annoying, but it was all doable, no soldering or adhesive or anything like that.

Yeah I definitely intend to watch White Lotus, for one I’ve heard it’s very good and I like a lot of the actors on it, but also I’m a Survivor fan and the knowledge that Mike White went from Survivor to creating a successful show impresses me.

Bonne Maman first, then Nutella

I only just started season 3 of MQ, but I 100% assumed he left because of his role in The White Lotus (which I haven’t seen at all). Like, he’s old, not having time to do both shows makes sense and maybe he made a call about which one looked to be the better/more successful show.

Alright, but what I really want is crunchy Nutella - like how crunchy peanut butter still has a lot of noticeable peanut chunks, give me Nutella (or a competitor, take note Bonne Maman) with noticeable hazelnut chunks.

Since we’re getting clear Skyward Sword connections (or at least vibe connections) in Tears of the Kingdom, I don’t think bringing up Demise is out of the question - it’s implied that the reason Ganon/Ganondorf is who he is and evil is because he is a reincarnation of Demise, but what would Ganondorf have been without

Hmm... I don’t think that’s Mercer. The voice (about 1:55 in the recent trailer) sounds familiar, but I’m not sure it’s him.

When I heard his voice in the trailer, I didn’t even think about Mercer because I assumed it was just whoever voiced Ganondorf previously (in Zelda and/or Smash). Then after he announced it I realized that they never needed an English-speaking VA before because he was always just grunts and screams and laughs. Still

It’s good to know that the full idiom is “The customer is always right in matters of taste”, so like if they want a well done steak or no onions or their burger or ice cream with ketchup in it (or an ugly or ill-fitting suit, to go to a different customer service job), it’s not your job to try and convince them to get

This just reinforces that I don’t have the patience to work with the general public.

I think a big difference is cars or not - if you typically go everywhere in a car, then you have a giant power bank on wheels and most people with cars (as far as I know) have charging cables in them. Having a dedicated power bank is a lot less useful in this case, but that doesn’t mean that these people never end up

I feel like the downside there is that when you’re cutting your piece away, the end of the next piece is immediately toasted. And then it’ll get stale and dry a lot faster compared to the rest of the loaf.

I don’t drink because I’ve never tried anything with alcohol in it that didn’t taste disgusting and I’m not a social enough person to have ever really had a reason to acquire the taste. My dad is the same way so growing up I never felt like I had to do it. But I’m also not over here telling others they shouldn’t

Which, I think, is the correct attitude to have.

This isn’t, like, passing judgment. You doubtless know that eating red meat (from Texas Roadhouse or anywhere else) is bad for you, but you do that in moderation as well and you’re fine. Drinking, even in moderation, is bad for you, but it’s only a little bad for you and your body is made to handle some bad things

I don’t think this is intended to actually stop people, it’s just hoping that people will recognize that even small amounts are bad for you. Which, as you point out, is also true for things like fast food and sugar. So long as people understand “this bad thing is only a little bad if I do it a little and I’m willing
