Bad take. Without Tesla we would still be waiting for the “big 3" to release an electric car. Before Tesla there was not a single Electric car i would ever consider driving. By showing the world that electric could be stylish, fast, and easy enough to own Tesla kicked the auto world into the next century.

It takes time to validate chips for this duty cycle, which is why, once a chip is validated, they tend to use them until they can’t.

Google is far worse about killing off technologies and projects than Apple has ever been.  Apple switches interfaces/ports at the leading edge of adaption rather than keeping them forever.  Annoying at times but with useful benefits.

That GIF is really validating to see. There’s a large group of people across various platforms that keep calling this gen boring, that it’s making the civic more of an appliance, which they are, but it’s really just a correction in styling.

the root cause of the issue though was that the car companies were too quick to cancel large orders of chips at the start of the pandemic for fear of looking bad to wall street by carrying too much inventory. when they did that, the companies who had been nursing along the old fabs to build those chips said “finally!”…
