I will eat my shoe the day I see Kuznetsov lie down and take a shot to the ribs. Mike Green used to politely allow people to rip the puck on net. We used to laugh watching him skate around in circles, doing his absolute best to avoid contact as much as possible.

My team, despite sucking this year (and most years), is high, high above the Caps, who are embarrassingly low for the best team in the regular season. If you’re using Caps fandom as a defense, you’re fighting a losing battle.

I don’t know, I think there’s nothing more entertaining than seeing them fail year after year. And it is hard to comprehend that Ovechkin has never even gotten to the Conference Finals.

Sometimes I think about how Ovechkin has never (and likely will never) make it to even a Conference Finals, let alone to the Stanley Cup Final. Despite being on like 5 (I think) President’s Trophy teams. It truly is hard to comprehend. I hate when people just use playoff success to call someone overrated, but I will

Sad because you’re one of the 50 Caps fans out there, or sad because there’s nothing more fun (as a non-Caps fan) to watch than their unbelievable yearly playoff collapse?

Remember when Jim Joyce called that guy safe and ruined a perfect game? Umps are the worst.

Incredible story. Thank you for writing it.

Apparently he was shot in the leg. Might as well chop those things off at this point and cut your losses, Brandon.

Lol what the hell is that lady doing? Duck, stupid.

WADE BEFORE YOU GO IS A HOT DOG A SANDWICH PLEASE THE WORLD MUST KNOW

Obviously it’s a shitty thing to do, but who the fuck thinks a $10,000+ fine is appropriate for throwing a bag of peanuts at someone? If that just happened at the street outside the stadium, it would be laughed at, maybe an insult follows, and the people would walk away or do that little fake-fight thing. $10,000 or

Couldn’t I be a Rangers fan? (Yes Flyers fan)

Christmas would be if Crosby, Ovechkin, Malkin, and Marchand all collided at the same time and got concussions, and then for some reason Sean Avery was also present and he jumped off a bridge which is also nearby for the sake of this strange hypothetical.

Let me guess...Bethesda? Maybe Chevy Chase?

Announcer: “Nobody in the NHL wants to see this”

Well I don’t think all prospects will/can do that...only very elite players would be able to sit out a game and not have their draft status be harmed. A 3rd or 4th round guy certainly wouldn’t take the risk of dropping.

Eh, we’re talking a small handful of players in a season who would do this. And some years, probably none. I don’t think anyone other than the fans of that specific team would be impacted.

Because he’s under contract and being paid. If he wanted to ask for release from that contract, I guess he could try. But that’s not an equivalent comparison at all.

But they’re not doing it for the coaches or to make themselves better players, they’re doing it to prevent injury and losing (potentially) millions of dollars. If Leonard Fournette sat out this past season, you have to think he’s still a first round pick.

Because the coach wants/needs to win games. And if the player is good enough to be a first-round pick, he’s going to be helping his team win games.
