Obviously the ghetto and the armbands, along with the German or Slavic names for all the characters, are obvious references to the Holocaust. However:

I think the biggest surprise had nothing to do with the deaths and resurrections that were as inevitable as Thanos believed himself to be - and everything to do with Karen Gillan. I did NOT see Nebula’s character being asked to carry that much weight in the story, which is more or less a two-hander (Tony/Steve) with

I just love the idea that Doctor Strange saw 14 million possibilities, and the one that works relies on a rat walking on the buttons responsible for pulling Ant Man out of the quantum realm 5 years in the future. Also FAT THOR is my hero.

The gesture from Strange was 1 finger. It was his confirmation that this was the 1 in 14 million, not him moving the stones. It was his signal to Tony to give it his all. Basically sending him to his death with the promise that it’s worth it because this was the reality that would work.

Spider-Man was just saying that they didn’t experience any passage of time, he felt dusty and blacked out but then immediately woke up still on titan again. They had no idea how much time has passed, and they’ve experienced no time since infinity war.

strange gestures that there is only one way. i.e. tony had to be saved in infinity war so he could sacrifice himself in endgame. so cliche...

Also seeing Cap finally getting to dance with Peggy was the perfect ending. I definitely saw it coming after he accidentally ducks into her office and sees her in another room. He already made up his mind in that moment that if he survived he was going to get back to her no matter what.

He ruined the Avengers for a friend he didn’t even say goodbye to or acknowledge before he made his decision. Like, there was no interaction with Bucky at all.

I loved the film beyond words. But either I'm not understanding it properly, or there is major problems in the timeline. So all of the stones were returned to their starting points, great, but what about Thanos? He has now died before ever having collected the stones, thus the click now hasn't happened, thus all those

I think this is a great analysis both of the movie itself and it male characters and the reasons of much of the toxicity of the fandom.

I know it doesn’t hold a candle to the classics you’ve outlined, but The Last Samurai might interest some people even if it’s sort of a rehash of the basic plot of Dances With Wolves. Also worth noting because it features Hiroyuki Sanada, who plays Musashi in Westworld. Ken Watanabe is great in it, as well.

Or Han himself...

It makes sense either way. If he doesn’t have a family he cares about, using “Solo” may seem fitting. If he does, it’s the perfect way of protecting them from his enemies.

Just got back from the cinema and poured a drink. My observations are as follows:

Stargate SG-1's timeloop episode: Window of Opportunity (season 4, ep 6). O’Neill and Teal’c get trapped in a time loop and when they start to settle with their fate, hilarity ensues.

This is my problem with the internet’s obsession with clinically picking apart these movies (I’m looking at you, Cinema Sins). These analyses leave no room in the equation for any of the characters’ humanity and assume that everyone reacts to every situation after carefully considering all the possible downstream

Yup. Strange just let him keep going, because he knew it was necessary.

Groot has loved his father-rabbit-friend the whole time
