I'm going to LA this year and one of the days is a planned drive up route 1 to san fran. Not exactly super "gearhead" but I'll be driving up a road that I've always wanted to drive....Even if it is in an aveo or hyundai.

Never driven an A3, but the A4 2.0T I found similar to the Speed 6, but I found the speed 3 just felt faster than the 6

You have never driven the speed 3, 6, or protege then. All of them are some of the most fun cars I have ever driven.

You confused worst and best

Why? I love seeing beat up old cars at the strip destroying GT500's and corvettes. People who race old cars do all the building and tuning on their cars themselves and it shows that it doesn't take 60k to make a fast car. Just look at the cost/ benefit ratio and you'll see why people race old V8's
