Companies usually plan ahead. It’s called forecasting. Sometimes is right sometimes it’s wrong. They are obviously forecasting a slow down and making changes accordingly. You don’t beef up costs just because your last quarter was good if you think sales are going to fall in the next.

Do you have any clue how much industrial product is nickel/chrome plated? They use plating to avoid using stainless. If we had to move away from plating to 100% stainless components, the cost of literally everything would fucking skyrocket.

Correct. However, they use this instead of stainless rods. The reason? Massive cost reductions. I can’t imagine industry having to move to 100% stainless rods. Based on your comment, I think you already know this.

I mean, it’s not really a fair comparison. the active aero on this thing makes it not even remotely comparable to an F1 car. Give F1 the same ‘non-restrictions’ as this, then we can talk. Put a vacuum system on a current F1 that makes 5k lbs of downforce at standstill on unlimited slicks, I’m not sure who wins.
