I mostly rate the few procedural episodes I've watched on a tolerable-to-horrible scale. Bones being tolerable because of quirky Brennan and resurrected Angel and Numbers being horrible — with CSI/that Mark Harmon show/Law & Order being the middle that mostly bore me/gross me out in the first few minutes.

If MASH can get that high, then it ought to drag Sports Night along with it, and possibly Scrubs as well.

Well, I'd probably point out that just because something is an hour-long with lots of drama doesn't make it automatically better than a half hour of comedy, even the older ones.

This list is … kinda shitty, even based on my limited TV watching.

Fair comment.

Well, yes, A Christmas Story is considerably cheerier than IAWL, but keep in mind that Ralphie's family isn't particularly high and mighty either. I always thought that everything having to do with their dad was about saving money — the radiator and the tire changing, the fear about breaking the eyeglasses.

Freeman and Cumberbatch need to stop baiting the fangirls. It's really amusing, but mean.

I haven't seen Shawshank, but I'll hazard a guess that it loses a lot of respect in the voice-over narration. Unless it has some kind of meta-ironic subtext like the opening of The Third Man, voice-over narration is largely considered a hackish way of storytelling in a visual medium the way most contemporary critics

Fargo is too low.

I like Stephanie Zacharek's work a lot. I trust her opinion on almost everything (with the exception of the work of Spike Jonze — for some reason every film critic of a certain age really hates whatever he and Charlie Kaufman do).
