Whatever the whole truth is, the fact is that I’ve been in an hours-long text discussion about it with a group of friends and gotten zero work done today. So, hat tip to all involved. Mission accomplished.
Dan Bucatinsky’s first ep is one of my favorites from the original run (it’s the one where they all bet whose shoulder Karen will cry on when Stan has a health scare).
Love all those ladies, but Retta blew me away. I love when a comic performer gets to show their chops.
Was that a record for fastest fridging?
I really loved the book as well. Most of the reviews seem to be middling, so I’m hopeful that I’ll still like the movie even if it doesn’t reach those heights.
I had never heard of “Jackie’s Back” until that pod. Now I keep shouting “Meet me on the balcony, Mezzanine!” No one else gets it.
I was wondering if Shangela was going to do Jenifer Lewis after hearing her (Lewis, not Shangie) on RuPaul’s podcast. If you haven’t heard that episode, it’s hilarious.
It felt like, at the end, maybe the door to a Lucifer/Cain attraction is left just a little open? I’m not calling the show out, because I think it does a decent job of representing Lucifer’s sexuality, but it would have been nice if the “worst neighbor ever” montage had objectified some men, considering their cover…
I not only liked Weird Loners, I thought Goodwin Games was fun too. Becki Newton needs to have one of these shows hit before she just throws up her hands and signs on for twelve season of NCIS. I mean, I’m sure she’d love the money. But she’s too funny to be lost to us for that long.
I think what Dela was trying to say was that the group reached a consensus (which it didn’t) and she was eliminating Morgan because she was the outlier to that consensus (which didn’t really happen)? In any case, that was a confusing speech. Still love her though.
I could not agree more. I never thought, even once, that either of them was going to die or be beaten up or punished in some way. I think I read somewhere that Guadagnino thought of it as an “idyll.” Please leave it that way.
The Carly Rae Jepsen reference in the headline was more entertaining than any portion of this episode.
That guitar...there’s always one.
That Kars for Kids riff was gold. As you said Gwen, no reason for it to be other than Hayes and Mullally selling the hell out of it. Their first “reprise” in the elevator had me howling.
It was very, very dusty in my apartment whenever Brother was talking. Weird.
I was just referencing the potential purchase of Fox by Disney :-) Nothing against The Orville! I’ve never watched, but I’m glad you enjoy.
Interesting to note that in the original script. Luke’s character was female and the two were friends.
I enjoyed Hunter, but would vastly have preferred the return of Bobbi. Can our Disney overlords just cancel The Orville so she’s free again?
That YouTuber was almost worth it for the judges reactions.
