@Ridley: That's what I was thinking, I think it'd be pretty horrible to use if you have to pull the blades apart and have them snap back (plus, that's what it's meant to do in lock mode, with the polarities reversed).

@thejimmylittle: If the 40M platform had 100k apps, and the 6M had 1k, I'd choose the 6M. But I see your point :)

@badasscat: I don't think you understand the system. Reporters are given early access to (in this case) tech under the agreement that they don't publish anything relating to it until a certain date. It's mainly for marketing purposes. How is it problematic to you? It's very widespread throughout many industries.

@Lord_Data: Does seem to leave quite a gap in the market, seems like Nokia's Symbian phones are the least locked down these days, and they're on their way out...

Developers go to where the users are; users go to where the content is. Microsoft has to break a vicious, virtuous cycle.

@DingoJunior: That's a lovely story but 10% makes them the minority:

@DingoJunior: I'd agree with them, I've tried iOS and found it's limitations stifling. That said, I work in the computer games industry and one or two programmers here have iPhones too (although they take turns in alternately whining about them and lauding them). Each to their own, I suppose. (Although, I suspect on

@DingoJunior: Then it must be subjective, or you were unfortunate in your choice of Android phone, because I find Android's software far better (at least, when it's unadulterated).

@sid9221: Or just use the PS3 as a media center, thus negating the PC and the $50 a year in costs. Hulu is just one option.

@Grindhouse Murders: Did you read RIMs response? The iPhone 4 suffers from a specific problem other phones don't, i.e. the shorting of the two aerials due to it's design.

@Grindhouse Murders: Since when? I must have had over 20 nokia's over the years and never had my phone come with any sticker on it (apart from the screen cover)

RIM sound pretty pissed, pulling no punches. Good for them!

@marine6680: Why can't someone video the effects of bridging the aerials with something other than a hand (a strip of foil?), thus disproving the BS about it being an attenuation problem?

@DingoJunior: Unfortunately, I still don't think there is anything else comparable on the market with regards to functionality and usability

@fughedaboudit: By that logic, the people buying the oil are financing it too. In fact, practically everyone is.

@franco1975 [Troll ]: Apple can't do it because it's a terrible idea. For a company obsessed with design the 'solution' is way too ugly, and is probably complete rubbish from a legal standpoint as well. I really can't understand why Giz are campaigning for this, and not for Apple to just fix the fault. I also think no

They don't seem that similar to me, especially if you actually read the text.

@franco1975 [Troll ]: Yes I know, I was trying to question Gizmodo's campaign but I guess I wasn't very clear.
