That’s the way I want all of my pilots: so practiced that they could almost do it with their eyes closed. And not only should they be rested, but they should be dreaming about procedures, checklists, and contingencies.

Yes, it was a pretty stupid move on her part, BUT designers and engineers have to take into account the breadth of humanity that will be using whatever product they make. And in my experience as a designer if I ever ask myself “would anyone ever ___?” the answer is always YES, AT LEAST ONCE. The questions then become…

So, the tracks are newly updated, tested, and rated to 79 mph, but had the trains been properly tested and rated to 79 mph?
