A diplomat literally can. Of course their home country may take some action on their own by calling them home and putting them in prison over there, so most are motivated not to kill anyone. But for traffic tickets? There are some NYC embassies that have run hundreds of thousands of dollars in parking and other fines…

Are EV’s making money yet?  Last I checked the production cost was still firmly outweighing what the vehicle sell for.  All this is to say the less the vehicles sell for the less incentive the manufacturers have to produce them unless there is some other incentive such as carbon credits.

It’s fine to not like TikTok but this amounts to the government banning a platform for speech, based on next to no justification. There’s a lot of silliness on TikTok but a lot of activist / news / political content too. Sure you can use Facebook or whatever, but why would you trust them any more?
