Oddly satisfying? On my Wrangler 4xe in electric mode you can still run through the gears in Manual mode, and it’s so neat to listen to the pitch of the electric motor rise and fall as you go through the gears.
Meanwhile, for a Mitsubishi mirage
Adaptive cruise control is shit and has no business being on a sports car. Porsche should be applauded for not forcing it on everyone.
Every technological advancement brings challenges. When the first ICE vehicles arrived there wasn’t an efficient fuel distribution system, people hated the noise and pollution, the cars scared the ubiquitous horses, people got hit more often than they did by those horses, people in cars were injured and killed far…
We have our safety regulations so backwards. We regulate personal safety but care little about mass safety. i.e. you can’t drive that, YOU could be killed in an accident? Versus - Of course you can tow a 40 foot trailer with your 12 foot tall truck with no prior experience because YOU will be okay if you crash.
Hertz is pretty lousy. Last year, I did a one-way rental to get back home after my just-purchased ‘96 Jaguar XJ12 died two miles from where it started (because of course it did). The rental in question was a pre-refresh version of the current Chevy Equinox, with hard miles on it.
To be fair, nobody is ever going to make a headline that says “absolutely nothing went wrong with my rental, I loved the car and the service was flawless”.
This.
As someone who appreciates my vehicles for their mechanical efficiency, I don’t like the weight penalty, and consider the sun unwelcome. But I understand others have the completely opposite view.
I can only assume the people that love these things DON’T live where summers are brutal. Where we tint our windows as dark as possible, keep sun shades within easy reach, and search for shade like a crack head looking for their next fix. It’s a hard pass for me. 🤣
Plenty of people, stop being a dick and look outside once in a while.
Why wouldn’t you? Takes like a minute to make (or $1 to buy and fill out) and would increase your chances of selling. Last vehicle I sold, I used both online ads and a physical for sale sign.
As for 2nd gear, it might be a wise use of resources.
From a design standpoint, I honestly think the present day Challenger is the greatest modern interpretation of a classic car ever made. It looks just as perfect today as it did in 2008. Hell, they could keep building them for another 20 years and that’d be just fine!
The turn-of-the-century was peak BMW:
I would go further and say pretty much any BMW from the 1990s are going to be iconic/classic.
I bought a service plan for my 2018 Tacoma, and very quickly realized it was a rip-off. It didn’t cover half the stuff they said it would and just like that woman they tried to make me pay for covered items multiple times. I will NEVER buy one again.
For Blue, BMW’s San Marino Blue. You just want to dive in.
Why are so many new trucks four doors with a small bed? Doesn’t that kinda defeat the purpose?
