From my experience it’s mostly not because people are boring, but just that they have no imagination. I had two sales managers that had opposite theories with this. One ordered all black and white cars, assuming if someone wanted a color they could order or we’d trade for one (this was before ordering was really a

*Dealers shouldn’t be allowed to spec their cars

’m sure it will show up elsewhere here, but I love the Lancia Delta Integrale HF dash. It’s overwrought, but I love it.

Being able to get parts to keep the vehicle on the road...you are exactly right.

Well that was a bullet that was dodged. Considering how the 300s, especially the latter models with the “smoothed out” sheet metal, are to this day fantastically handsome since they’re aging so well. Not many cars can make that claim—a “classic” in the truest sense of the word—withstanding the test of time and still

A bit over 100 of the 100,000 they were reported as buying is not "selling their fleet".

There is no legit reason to not offer both options. Charge MORE for the manual if necessary, people who want one today will pay a modest upcharge just as they used to do for autotragics.

Unfortunately the teaser photos show that the refreshed GTI still seems to rely on those touch-sensitive temperature and fan speed adjustments

Hello BMW,

God damn.... Just make good cars that do car things. This is just one more feature I don’t want that makes the idea of getting into the vehicle less attractive. Fuck not only the video games, but the entire infotainment system itself. Move the backup camera screen up to the rearview mirror, like it should’ve been from

BMW is so dead to me. Another fun while it lasted part of my life.

Who doesn’t wish other automakers would do the same, and “re issue”  some of their old venerable models. Good, basic and cheap is badly needed.

Don’t need the radio, A/C or cruise tbh.

“...with the fleet-like trim of regular cab with the eight-foot bed...”

I can’t be the only one who thinks this is kind of awesome, right? Isn’t this basically peak-Jalop? Buying the cars of yesteryear that we claim to pine for, but also with a warranty?

I have two screen-less BMWs (1 & 3 series) with all but identical control layouts. One of them for going on 13 years. I have no doubt that I could do any random task in either of them blindfolded. Good luck with that on a touchscreen.

I’m curious how many people actually fiddle with their HVAC controls on a day-to-day basis. With auto climate control, I set it to 70 degrees and then literally never touch the controls again. The fan stays low while the engine warms up and once there’s actually warm coolant going through the heater core it turns the

Literally anything that you need to adjust while the vehicle is in motion.

I think the rep of the Tacoma is a given here, sure. And, yup, if I could get another of the 2WD manual Xtracab Tacos with cloth seats and sides I could actually reach over then I’d be writing a check today.

Do they have pricing yet for this thing? This seems like a better answer than a full on BEV in my opinion. Not sure on the range 92kWh gets you but a PHEV truck with about 40 miles of range would be ideal for almost everybody that drives a 1/2 ton truck.
