Bmw e36 or e46. They are easy to maneuver and have reasonable rear seat room. I just went from a 2013 Mini two door (with the GP rear strut bar instead of a rear seat) to an e36 M3 Coupe. I love having a rear seat again and it's fun driving the little car around. It actually feels smaller than the mini because it…
We have two radio stations that play primarily pop from 80s through today. One is heavily weighted on 80s another on 00s. Nobody takes the 90s seriously right now.
I like the front end it is reminiscent of the Ferrari Enzo.
Ive always loved the look of this.
The hitch is interesting, they must still offer the option in Europe. My e39 M5 had a nice foam cutout in the trun where the factory hitch was supposed to be stored. Big sedans are often used as tow vehicles in Europe. European trailers are also designed with the axel farther forward to reduce tongue weight.
Id agree that the e38 is peak bmw design.
I plan to sell my 2013 Mini Cooper as the 1999 BMW M3 I just purchased doesn’t have room in the garage. I now have a perfect daily driver duo from the late 20th century of a 1999 BMW M3 and a 1999 Oldsmobile 88. Both of which are of the final year of production for their respective models.
I agree with this. My parents keep their cars in a heated garage where as mine are relegated to the unheated barn. Their cars appear to have much worse rust problems than mine even though I drive considerably more in the winter. Neither of us are particularly good about washing the salt off of our vehicles. I…
A group of 7 of us decided to fly out to Los Angeles and buy two Craigslist cars to drive across the country back to NW Pennsylvania. We were ambitious and gave ourselves 3 days to find vehicles. When we arrived the two vehicles we had lined up both fell through on the quality front, a 1983 Chevy K5 blazer and a 2008…
The pickup's grill is also quite reminiscent of the Suzuki Samurai. I suspect Suzuki was aiming towards that as opposed to the old Toyota.
GM may have decently tight tolerances for their panel gaps on the outside but the interiors are not always as good. My 1999 Oldsmobile 88 has a gap between the drivers door and dashboard large enough to fit my whole hand in. On the passenger side the equivalent gap is less than 1/4". Similarly there are trim pieces…
I had a similar experience in a Chevy Trax. I had the pleasure of driving the Opel version in France, called the Mokka. It turns out, when you replace a turbo-tastic 1.6L diesel for a 1.4L gas engine and a tight 6 speed manual for a confused dual clutch, it ruins the vehicle. I was extremely dissapointed with the…
I couldn’t agree more. Considerable driving pleasure for certain.
I have been thinking this for a couple of years. Two years ago I sold my 2002 e39 M5. At the time I was cross shopping it’s replacement with either an e36 M3, R56 Mini, or F56 Mini. I had the opportunity to test drive all three of those cars in the same afternoon. Both Minis were S models. The F56 was very polished,…
If we safari all the cars, can we slam all the trucks to keep world wide balance?
Depends on the chassis. I always thought my FWD Oldsmobile 88 would do extremely well off road with a few inch lift and some narrow knobby tires. The high amount of factory suspension articulation is probably what makes me think that.
Old British cars are brilliant. I have a 62 Austin Healey Sprite, it’s the most fun car I’ve ever driven, and I’ve driven many fun cars. The experience just sucks you in and you become part of the car. The sounds, the control feelings, the fun vehicle dynamics. Honestly, if you drive them enough, they are reliable…
As low end stripped as I could get, I’d put it on passenger car tires to lower it, I don’t need to take it off road. I’d then get 80s Comanche style Sport Truck graphics put on and rock the thing. I would option it with the V6 and a manual. If I could have it in two door I’d actually put this plan into effect…
The best upgrade I made to my 62 Austin Healey Sprite was switching to LEDs inside glass H4 housings to replace the original sealed beam imcadessant headlights. It went from being able to see the road to being able to see the road and everything around the road. They are better than most of my newer car's…
