The pickup's grill is also quite reminiscent of the Suzuki Samurai. I suspect Suzuki was aiming towards that as opposed to the old Toyota.

GM may have decently tight tolerances for their panel gaps on the outside but the interiors are not always as good. My 1999 Oldsmobile 88 has a gap between the drivers door and dashboard large enough to fit my whole hand in. On the passenger side the equivalent gap is less than 1/4". Similarly there are trim pieces…
I had a similar experience in a Chevy Trax. I had the pleasure of driving the Opel version in France, called the Mokka. It turns out, when you replace a turbo-tastic 1.6L diesel for a 1.4L gas engine and a tight 6 speed manual for a confused dual clutch, it ruins the vehicle. I was extremely dissapointed with the…
I couldn’t agree more. Considerable driving pleasure for certain.
I have been thinking this for a couple of years. Two years ago I sold my 2002 e39 M5. At the time I was cross shopping it’s replacement with either an e36 M3, R56 Mini, or F56 Mini. I had the opportunity to test drive all three of those cars in the same afternoon. Both Minis were S models. The F56 was very polished,…
If we safari all the cars, can we slam all the trucks to keep world wide balance?
Depends on the chassis. I always thought my FWD Oldsmobile 88 would do extremely well off road with a few inch lift and some narrow knobby tires. The high amount of factory suspension articulation is probably what makes me think that.
Old British cars are brilliant. I have a 62 Austin Healey Sprite, it’s the most fun car I’ve ever driven, and I’ve driven many fun cars. The experience just sucks you in and you become part of the car. The sounds, the control feelings, the fun vehicle dynamics. Honestly, if you drive them enough, they are reliable…
As low end stripped as I could get, I’d put it on passenger car tires to lower it, I don’t need to take it off road. I’d then get 80s Comanche style Sport Truck graphics put on and rock the thing. I would option it with the V6 and a manual. If I could have it in two door I’d actually put this plan into effect…
The best upgrade I made to my 62 Austin Healey Sprite was switching to LEDs inside glass H4 housings to replace the original sealed beam imcadessant headlights. It went from being able to see the road to being able to see the road and everything around the road. They are better than most of my newer car's…
My Oldsmobile 88 had a cornering G sensitive blower motor, turn right and it sped up, go straight it kind of blew slowly, turn hard left, it would stop all together. In the winter I didn’t care about my blower motor G meter enough to keep it as a feature.
I've owned an e39 M5 and my next daily is going to be an e36 M3. The M5 was analog bliss. An easy car to drive very fast, yet you knew you were in control and not a computer. I currently have a hot R56 Mini, even though it to is a great car, handles like a go kart, it doesn't make me feel the way an e36 does. I've…
I have seen one, at the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix.
I spent the summer driving a Jeep Comanche short bed. It felt a little large and quite tall to me. I can't imagine threading larger trucks through traffic or down narrow PA back roads.
I sold my rad 1988 Jeep Comanche sport truck on BaT last week and plan on purchasing a minty e36 M3 to become my daily when the right one comes up on BaT.
I use to shift 1st to 6th all the time in my e39 M5. First gear got you to 40. Sixth was for cruising.
I agree, especially when it comes to working on cooling systems, it's always a giant mess.
I learned the hard way that you should release your parking brake to get rear brakes appart. I spent over an hour slowly prying a rear drum off of my Austin Healey Sprite when all I had to do was release the handle and simply slide the drum off. The thought occurred to me after I looked at the mechanism for the first…
Yeah, I wanted a modern Comanche based off of the wrangler. At least it has the six cylinder and a manual.
