Same here - adaptive cruise and lane keep in our new Odyssey have made long road trips much less fatiguing and less fatigue is safer, in my book.

Both, but, basically - yes. Safe access to technology is a huge part of what product design is all about. It becomes even more apparent when you ask the more basic question of “how can I move as many people as safely and effectively as possible” that the answer of “everyone drives their own cars” starts to look like a

Damn. This makes me want to throw away all the “Guards Red” (original color) paint I bought for my 944 Turbo project in favor of metallic green.

Yup, it’s a runner and a fun one at that. Plus, it’s an NA, so if you DO need to make any minor fixes to keep it going, they’re not a huge time suck to do.

The only way this is even remotely a good thing is if they come with any mechanism to help fix Amazon’s terrible safety record with deliveries. But it won’t, because much like the safety of the people along Amazon’s delivery routes, that will be second to speed and cost. Amazon’s culture and expansion is literally

Amazing, right? After our second kid was born, my wife and I discussed her leaving work and staying at home. She worked at the year-round daycare/preschool where our kids would have been attending and received a HEFTY 50% discount off enrollment. Factoring in our combined tax rate (I make a healthy salary myself), and

“I think Duke would have not been happy if you had not been there.”

I would call it pragmatic: 110 miles a day covers most commutes ‘round here (Chicago metro). I'd imagine that applies to most places this car is designed for.

Dragonslayer is awesome.

Turbo, when placed in a brochure or on a badge on the outside of a car, has never been an automotive term - it’s a marketing term.

First off - this thing looks great and is pretty much what I expected from Porsche as their first EV.

I was between those and the quick jacks and went with the quick jacks since I didn’t want to do the concrete reinforcement work necessary to properly install a two post. Either way, I agree - game changer.

I have a 5000 as well and use it for a 944 Turbo, Honda CR-V, and Honda Odyssey regularly. That paired with a cordless impact are game changers.

I’m currently scouring FB marketplace for a Polski Fiat 126p to daily to the train station and am absolutely convinced it’s the right idea. You’re idea looks like the theory of special relativity compared to mine.

I would hope the same thing and buying from a US warehouse certainly has the benefit of faster shipping, usually. I’m simply pointing out that “Ships from USA” with a bunch of US flags all over the graphics also could seem to pander to the “buy American” crowd much like a “Made for America” sticker on a tire might.

While I didn’t know about the “Express customs” portion of Chinese imports, I remember learning that the reason shipments from China to an address in the US are so cheap is because of our many decades long participation in the Universal Postal Union which set forth that the domestic postal service will bear cost for

This is a common theme on eBay as well - a lot of sellers will advertise things which are imported but have red, white, and blue graphics all over the images which read “SHIP FROM USA,” or something to that effect.

I shall join you in this fight. We just got one and it’s great. I actually like driving it better than the mid-size pickup we traded for it.
