Sure do. They get sold to folks who know they’ll have to fix something like that and can do so for little enough that it doesn’t really factor into the value.

Wasn’t mine, though I do have a now ten year old Honda CR-V and our dealership (service department, anyway) has been super good to us.

LOL. True.

Regarding the Dodge trade in...

I’m working on a long term project car and these site wide eBay sales are the best. I wait until they pop up to buy the more expensive parts (clutch kits, etc). Thanks for posting this!

Why do people hate these and bike shares so much? Sure, some users need to be schooled in etiquette and safety but things which get you around in the city cheaply, efficiently, and cleanly should be embraced. There are too many cars in downtown Chicago mixing with pedestrians as is and reducing them is a great goal.

Even bike shares are getting a bad rap in cities - I work in the West Loop of Chicago and most of my coworkers despise them.

Daily driving a 911 with kids sounds crazy until you actually think about it - mine are 2 and 4 and as soon as they’re able to fit in boosters, I’m getting rid of my truck and getting a car. Hell, even my 944 should be built soon and work out OK for shuttling the kids during the summer.

Younger than the current buyers, sure. Especially in the volume Corvettes need to move. I know enough people in their 30s and 40s who would shop for something in Corvette territory but would never buy a Corvette as it is now.

There are automatic savings plans out there which do this for you and allow you to keep your money too.

My mother-in-law does this same thing, which, I guess is like paying someone to make sure you save money? I don’t know, I’d rather make some meager interest on my own money.

It’s a poorly maintained 30 year old German car, alright. Reminds me of my $3500 944 Turbo - I bought it as a runner which was actually pretty good! So far, I’ve rebuilt...

I’m male and play hockey in a co-ed rec (read ‘beer’) league and it’s bad. There are two women in the whole league despite women’s hockey being pretty popular around here.

Yup. A carbon tax should probably be considered along with any emissions regulation.

Former Sears employee here. Hi. Company run by a hedge fund manager just slowly bleeding it dry and draining the employees in the process.

I had the first model year SX-4 Hatch and it was great. Reasonable power, good mileage, 5 speed, selectable AWD (FWD, AWD Auto, 4WD Lock) and as roomy as a car that size could possibly be (I used to regularly haul a drum set or mountain bikes). All for about $11k or $12k, iirc?

Menard’s here in the Midwest is a great chain where you can find tons of obscure hardware in small quantities as well. It’s typically my first, and last, stop.

Eh. Those stickers may help pay for the car and its entry into certain events, so I’m ok with it. If the only way I could get an R8 is to sticker it up, I’d do it.

This is true. With the right maintenance, they are quite robust.

That my $3500 Porsche 944 Turbo car would go from an engine reseal and simple respray to a full rebuild due to previous owners’ “maintenance” and “service” (missing screws, wrong threads tapped in places, manual boost controller bypass, on and on and on)
