I honestly don’t play many games if there isn’t a female character. The exception is with very story centric single player campaigns. Red Dead II, Uncharted, many single player RPGs, etc.

And articles like this help me make an informed decision about which developers I support.

Seriously if you’re disdain for loading a different program besides Steam is more intense than your love for the game you for some reason can’t play then I don’t know what to tell you. I believe they also gave development reasons to also explain the gender-locking. It is true that supporting additional genders to races = additional development time, that much is clear to those who understand mmo game development.
