Having spent some time in Tuscon on the Air Force base I learned something hilarious. For base housing developments, you could choose between ‘native’ and ‘grass lawn’ as your yard.

Entirely reasonable. The HOA concept has plusses and minuses, and each have different values to different people :) I prefer knowing I won’t have a chicken farm show up on my doorstep.
An HOA is only as bad as it’s members lack of involvement in it. If people aren’t involved in the month to month actions...power hungry small minded ppl will take over make it unfriendly and lead to the horror stories. Almost a metaphor for our current national problems.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE reserve the Woke DVDs for ppl in red states.
a cousin of mine said a couple decades ago “Apple’s a hardware company that doesn’t know it yet”. He and I agree with you their build their software...mainly to sell their hardware - so it’s a different mindset than google and others.
The words are pretty plain. “and the ability to block abusive users from the service”
The issue is the assertion that a lack of user to user block is a requirement for app stores. Nothing I’ve seen says that. Do you have a link to that?
Apparently the user to user block isn’t a requirement of Apple or Google. The block is that a service, like Twitter, must be able to ban a problematic user. - at least per Yoel Roth formerly of Twitter.
It stops someone from responding to or trolling your posts. Yes, logging out lets them see everything, but then they can’t post so a block prevents/reduces them from engaging in that type of harassment.
Per former Twitter person Yoel Roth, the app store requirements are that a ‘service’ needs to be able to ban a problem user. not that users must be able to block other users. Apparently Musk has already deleted the X-crete (frmrly tweet) anyway
You said “Coasting in neutral does not [slow you down]” which isn’t correct. Coasting while in gear will do it faster, sure - there’s more things resisting your momentum.
Those are graphic slapped together not actual photos . Look at the right front tire in the first image. I’d take almost nothing but general looks from those.
Unless you have one hell of a tail wind, coasting is always slowing down.
Especially if you’re going downhill, coasting in neutral is worse mileage than in gear for fuel injected engines I believe. IANAGH (not a gearhead) but FI only puts gas in when it needs to I think and if you’re coasting in gear at speed, the wheels drive the engine so no need for fuel.
Bought current house in 2014 and replaced with LEDs, am *just* now starting to see a couple of the kitchen bulbs start to go. 9 years seems pretty fair
Yeah, the ‘can’ vs ‘should’ problem of accountants and designers. IKEA and bulbs are a sordid history haha
One ‘feature’ of CFLs I did like was the older models that wouldn’t be full brightness initially. I used them in the bathroom and enjoyed not blinding myself in the mornings lol
Yes, they did. Added an actual heating element in place of the incandescent bulb.
Where it really is an issue though, is traffic lights in northern climates. They were designed expecting bulb heat to melt off snow/ice accumulations.
If the EZ bake oven figured it out, I’m sure lava lamps can too ;-)
