Just to keep things in perspective. 72 down to 68 is going to save you maybe 10 bucks a month. (region and weather adjusted obvs)

adjusting plans when a major storm is coming is fare more effective than trying to pack the right tools so you can stupidly try to fight your way through it.
Marginally better but not great. Avoidable winter storm gridlock vs climate catastrophe...not exactly a hard choice
I’d actually pay money to have NBC coverage disabled.
Or use a VPN and just go to BBC, CBC or any other nations coverage where *public* goods are available to the *public*, not locked behind a corporate paywall.
Not just like racing seats but the exact same racing seat. Just amazing the complete duplication of a single concept across so many brands.

Well we won’t send it to Jupiter.
Boaty be hoping Godzilla thinks he’s a tylenol and not a suppository
I tend to favor triangles if you have the space. they don’t go bad over time, but obvs aren’t as visible without light hitting them
re: 911 that’s likely no longer *required*. 3G networks are being decom’d in Q1 2022. Lots of On-Star type systems are about to stop working b/c of it without a dealer supplied upgrade.
VA prides itself on maintaining a low tax rate and a balanced budget. So VDOT is always scrounging for money if we get even a handful of storms in one year.
yeah, I think it’s 20 over posted is automatic reckless, and 80 is always reckless even in a 70. Do. Not. Speed. In. VA., they like their revenue stream.
It was well publicized the night before. This was fast developing but not that fast.
As a Rochester NY Native living in DC area, they don’t get right out and plow nor do they have the resources to really attack a large area. They can slowly grind down a snowfall, but a lot fast isn’t really feasible.
Obligatory
I believe I read the reason was to cut down on occupant ejections in crashes. And that submersion was a much less likely occurrence.
Well, think of all the weight savings he’ll gain walking to get help! ;-)
Yeah, surprised me too. Even with something substantial doubtful you can get the momentum needed in the space available.
Well if the windshield goes ‘walkies’ you won’t be needing the window breaker ;-) I kid I kid. Definitely a good point.
I went with reflective triangles instead of flares. Figure they don’t ‘go bad’ or have a limited run time. They are a fair bit bulkier though. And aren’t really visible unless light hits them obvs.
