Another question, the 12 battery is what powers your 1300 w generator then? Seems like a lot of draw - I’ve seen owners manual spec limits on the cig lighter inverters to only use 150w or so. Does using the 12v batt direct alleviate those issues?

Depends on the hybrid. Wouldn’t work for some Honda’s. 2012 Insight has the engine ‘on’ in Park. it turns off the ICE engine to use HV batt when you brake to a stop, but shifting into to Park starts the ICE again.
